Traditional Oriental Medicine is a system of healing that dates back thousands of years. It has its origin in ancient oriental philosophy which sees a person as an energy system in which body, mind, and soul are joined, each influencing and balancing the other. It is also known “Joong Yong Gee Hak”, translated as study of balance.
Unlike conventional medicine which endeavors to isolate and detach a disease from a person, Oriental Medicine underscores a holistic approach that treats the person as a whole.
The basic foundation for Oriental medicine is that there is a life force, or energy, known as “Qi”, which have been determined after centuries of studies and observation. Qi flows through network of energy pathways in the body called meridians which connect all of our major organs. Qi moves throughout our body nourishing and nurturing our body and gives us ability to function as a living being.
